Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy F12 Review

Samsung Galaxy F12 comes with a textured plastic body with stripes on the back panel. However, the device seems thick on the sides and it is quite heavy to hold. The smartphone has a refreshing look and the textured finish offers a good grip over the phone.

On the front side of the smartphone, you get a 6.5 inches PLS TFT LCD screen having a resolution 720×1600 pixels along with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display is protected with a corning Gorilla Glass on the top.

The bezels on the sides of this water drop shaped notch display smartphone are quite noticeable. The volume rockers and power button which is also a fingerprint scanner are placed on the right side of the device whereas the sim card slot is on the left side. The 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type C port and a single speaker are provided on the bottom of the device.

Camera

The Galaxy F12 smartphone has a quad camera setup which comprises a 48MP wide angle primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture along with a 5MP with f/2.2 ultra wide angle lens, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 each. It offers up to 10x digital zoom. There is a single 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture on the front of the device.

For Samsung F12 review, we have tested the camera to get and share genuine results. The rear camera produces good quality pictures in broad daylight or artificial lighting but you have to compromise with pictures in low light as there is no night mode on-board.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy F12 runs on Android 11 based OneUI 3.1. The smartphone is powered by an in-house Exynos 850 chipset fabricated on a 8nm node. The chipset consists of four 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores along with Mali-G52 GPU supported by 4GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storage.

Multitasking, switching between apps, internet browsing, data sharing and all other day to day tasks can be performed very easily. However, you may see a little bit of lag over intensive graphic driven games. I played freefire on the Samsung Galaxy F12 for an hour and the battery dropped just 8 to 9 percent and it doesn’t heat as much as other cheap devices.

The performance of the smartphone is satisfactory and above all, the price of the Galaxy F12 is just INR 11000/- which is quite impressive.

Battery

The device gets power from a 6000 mAh non-detachable Li-ion battery. The battery is super large and it supports 15W fast charging technology. It has a USB type C connector which is good to go.

What we have found in the Samsung F12 review is that it takes almost 3 hours of time to charge the smartphone fully. The 15W fast charging is not very fast but that is acceptable keeping the 11499/- price tag in mind. You can rely a whole day on the battery with moderate usages however, light usage of the smartphone extends its battery to the next day.

Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy F12 smartphone supports 4G VoLTE, 3G, 2G bands along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. It has Bluetooth v5.0 with LE and A2DP, A-GPS, USB OTG Glonass, BDS and Galileo GPS support. There is a USB Type C 2.0 port at the bottom which helps you in data sharing and USB tethering through USB cable.
